Middle-aged burnout. Itinerant beach bum. Wannabe world traveler. Anthony Abelaye books a trip to Thailand and finds himself in a land of seeming hallucinations and perverse fantasy. What he thinks will be a brief vacation getaway instead becomes an obsession with a woman he meets who soon begins to haunt his every waking moment.
Part travelogue, part confessional, Thai Dyed: Heartbreak and Hedonism in the Land of Smiles is Abelaye’s head-first dive into Thailand’s kaleidoscopic culture and infamous nightlife.

Anthony is a tech industry burnout who decides to rent a booth at a flea market in hopes of reinventing himself as the proprietor of a used-book store. But no one is interested in buying any books, and he instead finds himself dealing with an unusual bunch of misfits suffering from boredom and various forms of mental illness.
Collected here in a single edition since they first appeared in issues of Koogmo, a zine that Anthony wrote and published for over a decade, are his flea market tales and other stories detailing his dream of living on a beach somewhere far away from his 9-to-5 desk job and failing marriage.
